They include Bob Ellis, a Bergenfield High School history teacher and minor league baseball player who coached three Northern New Jersey Interscholastic League champions. Ellis retired in 1980 after 21 years with his alma mater, finishing with a 274-210 record.

The list also includes Dan Glover, a wrestling star and 2005 BHS graduate who was killed in a 2012 car crash in Pennsylvania on his way to a friend's funeral. His family fulfilled an earlier wish that his organs be donated.

Among the other honorees is Bob "The Bullet" Boehm, who played on the 1960-61 NNJIL championship basketball team, which went 23-3 and was considered one of the school's greatest ever.

The team itself also is being honored.

Other honorees include Don Valenzano, who started at quarterback and defensive back during his football career but made his mark as a shortstop -- batting more than .400 his senior year while being unanimously selected to seven All-County first teams.

Also being honored:

  • Coach John Habeeb
  • Jennifer Hoyt (1992)
  • Maria Carluccio-Buckley (1985)
  • Mike Lamitola (1986)
  • Dr. Jack Russell (1959)
